Here is a little news flash for you guys, GeekTool 3 is available! See here.
I have been having a bit of a love affair with GeekTool lately (in case you noticed) and this new version of GeekTool looks promising. I don’t know if it fixes all of the bugs of the earlier GeekTool, but, it sure looks a lot prettier. Everything appears to be the same (past appearances); however, it does bring “Geeklets,” which will allow GeekTool to display more things. I will get some more information soon!
That’s all for now, go waste a couple hours playing with it now.
Cant create groups, it’s simplay nth happening when I click the plus

I clicked installTool, the GeekTool app, and then it magically worked
I will get a tutorial up to help combat bugs sooner or later

Oh, I just reread your comment, I don’t think groups works this far in GeekTool3. The dev is working on it

I recently received a copy of the latest build of Snow Leopard (10A354 i believe). Now when i upgraded the first time GeekTool was working fine. Then i was working on changing the MenuBar to black and the whole system just crashed on me. I had to do a complete reinstall of regular Leopard and then upgrade again to Snow Leopard. Last night was rough. Sooo im not going to try that again for a little while.
I started to download all the programs i had backed up on my external right before it all went to hell and i reinstalled the same version of GeekTool that had worked with SL before it crashed (Version 2.1.2). But when i went to re-enter my scripts it was just not showing up. i dont know what the problem is! the blue box shows up and i select shell type in the code and nothing. like i said it was working fine before. any ideas? and has anyone used version 3 successfully with Snow Leopard

I’ve installed GeekTool 3.0(3B) and it’s working pretty well but I can’t create “Groups”. When I hit the “+” nothing happens.
Another question; how do I know when a new version of the beta is available? And, if I install it will I lose what I’ve got currently?
Thanks for the great software!

The Groups feature has not been put into use yet, but the dev is working hard.
Follow http://twitter.com/geektool on twitter for updates
And I don’t know if you lose what you have currently when you update, but my gut says that you will not :/
Also, features added are here: https://projects.tynsoe.org/projects/geektool3/timeline
